Kscope13—Day 3

By TopDown Team
June 25th, 2013
Today kicked off with a host of sessions, including TopDown’s first of four—”EPMA and DRM—Do I Use One, the Other, or Both?”. Paul Hoch and Steve Davis presented to a crowd of 50+ people. Lots of great information and questions. If you missed the presentation, check topdownconsulting.com next week for a copy of the slides.
The conference was abuzz over the news that Oracle and SalesForce.com have made friends with each other. They announced a nine-year partnership focused on enhancing their companies’ capabilities in cloud computing, the trend in which businesses access computing through a network, instead of in-house data centers. You can find more details here.
Other interesting tidbits are:
- Oracle Hyperion Planning in the cloud not just for SM companies, it’s also for departments looking to maneuver around IT log jams.
- ASO integration w/ Planning is a cool new feature in Oracle Hyperion 11.1.2.3 but doesn’t work w/ EPMA—only classic.
- New Admin only Smartview in Planning 11.1.2.3 allows metadata updates through Excel.
More as we have it…
