June 25th, 2012
This just in: KScope13 in New Orleans June 23-27.
And with that, let’s get down to the highlights of Day 1 at the conference…
Today at our booth, we’ve had a lot of discussions ranging from industry issues and how these match with our approach to client challenges. We’re also seeing a good balance of functional and technical talk at the show with a good number of Managers and Directors in attendance, which may surprise those that think KSCOPE is just for the individual technologists at companies. It’s always nice to have folks coming by to say hello, so we’re at #520 in case you’re at KSCOPE12 and haven’t stopped by. Planning
In terms of stand out sessions, Evan Thayer from E*Trade did a great session regarding utilizing Hyperion Planning and Essbase to manage P&L in a Banking environment. He quickly demonstrated deep subject matter expertise in both the technology and finance, doing a super job providing the background on his company, their problems, and the solutions deployed (and their results). The audience asked a lot of great questions making for a great discussion to close out the session. One note in particular was Evan’s tip of the hat to TopDown Consulting for the work that we did in particular with ODI, which has proven useful to them in multiple initiatives with both Workforce Planning and Essbase cubes.
Speaking of ODI, don’t miss Opal Alapat tomorrow when she presents Extending ODI – Hyperion Automation and Error Trapping from 5-6 PM.
Check back tomorrow for the Day 2 update and highlights and don’t forget to pop by and say hello.
