This update is provided by Josh Berger, Vice President of Sales for TopDown Consulting.
As Kscope11 comes to a close, the biggest takeaway for the TopDown team is the interesting and varied content presented over the last several days. And, according to the record breaking number of participants (over 1000 this year), the conference content keeps getting better and deeper each year. Highlights include the news that Essbase performance is going to dramatically increase, and Smartview is going to evolve to include many new exciting features.
It is also worth noting that even in the Hyperionpalooza that this event has become, Kscope is definitely different from the Hyperion Solutions conference of old (the annual conference put on by Hyperion before the Oracle acquisition). KScope focuses on the technology and the developer, whereas Solutions covered both the technical and strategic audiences. And the nice thing about the narrower focus is the detail and attention to key product areas within the EPM suite. It’s an approach that the TopDown Team understands because our approach is always to tailor our EPM solutions to accommodate individual client needs and business challenges.
I’ll close these updates with accolades to ODTUG for putting together such a great conference. This is definitely the best conference for developers and/or the folks in the trenches working with the products day in and day out. Moreover, the depth and breadth of the content and fun events left the conference participants satisfied and enthusiastic about attending Kscope12 next June in San Antonio, TX.
In the future, I hope to see the focus extend to the functional and technical audiences and beyond into the rest of the business and technical architecture. Based on the experience at Kscope this year, I have no doubt the conference will continue to expand along with the EPM space.
See you next June in San Antonio, TX, Kscope12.
